Graeme JD Ronald - Danielle - out 29 November

Graeme JD Ronald has announced the release of Danielle, his first new music in five years, and the first to be released under his own name, since his band Remember Remember went on hiatus following their acclaimed 2014 album Forgetting The Present.

The 12 track album is the soundtrack to the extraordinary documentary of the same name, directed by Gareth Warland, who was shortlisted for the Young Director Award, presented in Cannes, this year for his work. The film tells the story of 27 year-old Danielle MacGillvray and her six year-old son Peter, who live in the beautiful and stark landscapes of the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. The story of a mother, runner, horse rider and fire-fighter living with Multiple Sclerosis, Danielle is a short film about fighting to live your best life possible, despite the obstacles.

About the project, Ronald says: “Rather than a story about an illness, Danielle's is a story about a strong, resilient woman, whose life is defined by far more than her illness. I wanted to rise to the challenge of helping to tell that story.

It's also a story about the Scottish Islands, and about home. As someone who is far from my home of Scotland, the film made me reflect deeply on our connection to where we come from, and the extent to which it defines us as people.”

Originally from Glasgow, but now based in St Louis, USA, Graeme JD Ronald founded Remember Remember in 2006, initially as a solo project, before expanding to a band and releasing three albums via Rock Action Records. The band went on hiatus in 2015; since then Ronald has been establishing himself as a sound designer and audio/video artist, working in sound design for video games, podcasts and having work commissioned by the Sound Thought festival and the Glasgow School of Art (‘Forever River’).
